Mason is a 5 year old male Shih Tzu cross Rottweiler. Lovely Mason is an unusual mix! He is a Shih Tzu crossed with a Rottweiler, he is about Staffordshire Bull Terrier sized. He is looking for a new home as the family had no time for him. Mason is a lovely, affectionate boy. He was being locked in a crate most of the day and night and wasn’t getting the attention or stimulation he needs. This caused a bit of food possession, which is understandable as it is probably the highlight of his day! When he is eating it is best that he is left alone. This can be easily managed by a sensible owner, who will just give him space until he has finished eating.
Mason is best being rehomed to a home with older teens onwards. He is good with dogs on walks, but his current owner usually puts him back on the lead when a dog is approaching. He tends to prefer older, calm and well-behaved dogs. He is not good with cats. Mason is a lovely dog. If he is restrained from saying hello to someone, Mason may bark, this is because he believes there is a problem, if he is allowed to say hello he is fine.
In a calm home with plenty of time and attention, Mason will thrive as the beautiful boy that he is! He is not suitable for a first-time dog owner, he would benefit from someone with experience of dogs, especially rescue dogs as he will need time to settle and get used to his new family. He is a wonderful boy and will make a fantastic friend.
