Dave is a 3 year old male Shih Tzu Cross. He came to us as an urgent case under threat of being euthanized. He will need experienced owners but in the right hands is a totally adorable lad. He will need owners who are around for a good part of the day as he is a real cuddle bum once he has bonded with you and accepted that you are a safe human. We will not re home Dave with children.
He would like an active home with other dogs if possible, if he is re homed as an only dog he will need to have regular play dates and he must not be indulged in any way otherwise Dave the demon pops out for a visit. He is a really sweet lad so long as you allow him to settle, don’t overwhelm him and be guided by him and respect his space. Dave will let you know the moment he trusts you as he will happily jump on your lap and offer his tummy for a rub.
Dave does not cope well with the vets so care will always need to be taken when he needs any treatment. As his bond with his owner grows this will become easier as you will understand what his fear triggers are and will be able to ensure his stresses are as limited as possible. He travels like a star in the car, is clean in the house and loves his walks and exploring, Dave really is a great dog but his past has coloured his future, we want that to change for him and for him to have the life he deserves. We will be happy to discuss him at length with suitable applicants and will be on hand to advise should it be required.
Dave has been neutered, vaccinated, micro chipped and is up to date with flea and worming treatment. He is currently being fostered in SG13 Hertfordshire.
